Interracial dating is a controversial issue in many parts of the world. Even in the United States, where it is legally acceptable and present in much of their pop culture, interracial relationships sometimes provokes discrimination. The worst offenders are often the parents of the couple, motivated by religion, traditionalism, or simply bigotry. This problem isn't confined to the U.S., however, as it happens all over the world. Fortunately, most in Canada take the broader view, and policy-makers and educators have further improved levels of public knowledge.
